Lakers not done? Trying to acquire Beas now

Again, this is the Lakers own fault, could have had Beasley weeks ago, but instead we sat around hoping for pipe dream trades like Howard and D-Will.

We still don't have a bench scorer. Yea Sessions was a huge move, but everything else was for saving money. We are still stuck with the same bench we had before the deadline.

I don't think it's over yet with beasley (though I'm not optimistic). I read that the league has given teams that are still negociating a little more time. They've done this with 5 potential trades, one of them could still be Beasley to LA (Rembember, we still have the TPE; we could also give them cash considerations, a 2nd round pick..)

I doubt it. The whole crux of that deal was going to center on us getting rid of Blake, which we cannot do now that Fisher is gone. And the TPE option isn't happening because we have no more firsts to send with it to Minny. Minny would have no reason to deal with us if it was simply the TPE for Beasley. With only 23 games left, Beasley isn't going to cost them much.

When does the extended deadline end? If its true then IMO the trade will most likely go down. Why else would they request an extension if talks werent serious? PLEASE get Beasley!

True, I really wish we got Beasley, but hey maybe Glock will get more time and step up now. Blake, Glock, Barnes, Hill, Murphy, not a horrible bench, maybe a tiny bit better than what we had with our starting lineup improved now with Sessions.

:bang: I wanted both Beasley and Sessions.
Ok, let's see what we can do with what we've got. We still have our BIG 3, added a solid PG (isn't that WONDERFUL?), Fisher is gone (this actually makes me really sad) which means that our starting lineup will look much more competitive, added some depth behind Drew (Hill can play 5). Not so sure how the team's chemistry is gonna be like, but at least Pau can get his mind into the game now. Hopefully Kobe steps up even more and makes up for the loss of Fish's leadership.

Fisher was part of the Beasley trade originally that would have sent Crawford to Minny, Fish to Minny, and then Beasley to LA. But that fell through and then they went to the Houston trade.

As long as this isn't locked, I still have hopes we'll get Beasley.

I'll bet we were trying to get Beasley to waive his "Bird Rights" as part of the deal....... That is the only way we would use the TPE..... we had to make sure he was coming off the books this summer.

Lakers-Rockets deal only after trade fell apart late that would have sent Fisher,Jamaal Crawford to Minn, Beasley to L.A., Dallas 1 to Port.

No, trade deadline is passed, unless talks were already ongoing that's not happening, I'm pretty sure we're done dealing.

All in all, a pretty good day's work. I don't think any of us would have chosen to keep Fish over Blake, but we all expected that Fish was a fixture here. With Fish gone, they've significantly upgraded the PG position regardless who starts and who's the backup.

Beasley might have been nice, but I'm very happy (for this team's competitiveness) both that Sessions is coming and Fish is gone. It's almosty like getting two new players.

Odom will return this summer for the minimum anyway.. he'll get back into shape for the repeat championship next season :man12:

We'll have to make do with Ron and Barnes.

Anyone think that we will sign Arenas now?

We need another bench scorer whether it comes from Beasley or Arenas, I think we need to do it since we have an open roster spot.
