Lakers Say Farewell to Chris Mihm

Lakers Say Farewell to Chris Mihm

Postby emplay on Wed Feb 18, 2009 6:02 pm

Hey all,

I'm honestly sorry to see Mihm go - he's a really solid guy. Obviously it his basketball skills hadn't really caught up with him after the ankle injury

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=11634

Lakers save some cash, get a trade exception and open a roster spot.

Thanks

Eric

basically it's the same situation as before - lakers would make moves to save money - ie dump morrison despite his potentail - but otherwise they're happy with everyone on the roster

poor guy was here that long, and when a ring is finally in his grasp gets traded... It sucks, but it's what had to be done from the Lakers end... He's just done. Sorry Chris.

I feel sorry for Chris - in a different economic climate this would be a travesty by no-one can really moan all things being equal.

Thanks Chris, you always played your heart out no matter when or how long it was for, I remember your glory days back when you were uninjured. You will be missed and I wish you well wherever life takes you

I had a lot of fondness for Chris, and am sorry to see him go.
He showed a lot of character and was well-liked. Against all odds,
I was hoping this season he could play himself back into something
like 80 to 90% of his former self, which would make him a decent
backup C for us. Oh well. Good luck in Memphis, Chris.

Bring on Mbenga!

even if mihm wins a ring he still needs to worry about contract for nxt season... so it's good opportunity for him to get healthy again and earn another pay check...

Remember his first game as a Laker? And his regular domination of Marcus Camby? Those are my fond memories of Chris.

yeah, but he was everywhere - grabbin boards, contesting shots. he gave us that hustle that Powell is giving us now.

2 blocks and 7 rebounds. Given 2-3 of those were his own misses under the basket but I see what you mean. For him ( besides the atrocious shooting right next to the basket) it was pretty good game.

Very difficult watching the entire video, with that music blazing as if Chris Mihm is a basketball hall of famer or something.

Really sorry to see Chris go even more than Vlad. I kept hoping he could return to his level of play he had before the injury, but that last game agains the Hawks was a splash of cold water in the face that it wasn't likely.

They'll introduce him to the "Kwame chair" once he gets to Memphis or as most teams call it, the inactive list.

Feel for the guy... he was truly a nice guy. Never got the impression that he was unhappy or fretted over little things. He wasn't a half-bad player either. I wish him luck and some playing time elsewhere.
