Chris Manning's Tweet.

"Heard Odom's contract could be bought out by the Mavs and he may be done (personal reasons). Hope it's not true. Love Odom."

Could we possibly try to get him back and would probably make a Dwight deal easier now if or Gasol replacement

I believe the new CBA has a new no-reacquire clause for 1 year on bought-out players.
(ie the whole Ilgauskas fiasco).
So no Odom. Maybe it only applies to in-season trades. Not sure.

If we lose pau, or dwight and pau get traded for Dwight +pieces. Lamar and Wallace would be perfect PF - C acquisitions

I said it in the NBA discussion. Hopefully he takes the rest of this year off, gets his s*** together and comes back here on the cheap. I'd gladly take him back.

Found it:
• 2011 CBA: If a player is traded and subsequently waived by his new team, he cannot re-sign with his original team for one year following the trade or until July 1 after the last season of the player's contract, whichever is earlier.

Not sure any of the "Lamar come home" crowd have been actually watching him play this year. Not interested is one thing, but he looks like he's moving is slow motion as well.

Lamar of 2 years ago isn't available anymore......

Dallas is "clearing the decks" for both Howard and D-Will.. Look for more salary dump moves before the dead line IMO....

On a related note..... remember when most of CL was dead set against trading Odom for Marion..... Odom's done or near it and Marion is still going strong.

I read somewhere that Odom's dad is in the hospital. He should take a break from basketball since his mind clearly can't focus on it right now.

Was this last year or are you talking about back in like 06 or whatever? If it's that trade rumor from a long time ago, nobody in their right mind should want to do that trade since Odom was a huge part of our two championship runs.

considering he almost joined them for less money a couple years ago, i'd say it's a possibility. i could see him in ny, too.

1. I don't think he's coming back guys

2. It saddens me to say this, but... he is horrible this season. Have you watched him play?

It was in the Odumb days..... if your being honest about it.... there were more of those days than there were him being a huge part of anything.... we didn't get over the "hump" until we got Pau....

^^^ agree. Odom failed miserably as the #2 option. Damn good player as the 4th / 5th option.

Are you guys kidding me? Obviously, Pau was a huge part of our success. Even if we got Marion, we wouldn't win anything without Pau so I really don't see the point in bringing that up. Are you really trying to argue that we'd get anywhere with Marion as the second option?

Odom was a huge part of our 2 championship runs. With him in the lineup, our offense was way better than anyone else in the league in 2009. It wasn't as great, but it was still awesome in 2010. Our statistically best lineups included Odom. He hit over 50 3P% in the 09 playoffs. Can Marion do that? He routinely owned Marion in the playoffs. I hope you're not trying to argue that we'd win the 2 championships with Marion playing PF as opposed to Odom.

Mitch > Cuban

hahaha

but Odom can't become a Laker again... since we cut him in Decemeber we'd have to wait until next decemeber to sign him, I doubt he'd wait 3 months of no pay to resign
