OJ Mayo To The Lakers?

:man4: yes please!

EDIT: on second thought.... We should probably make damn sure we have a serviceable backup point guard if we do this, as Nash will probably only play 30-32 minutes a night.

yes, love this. get out of the Dwight race if need be.

Nash, Mayo, Morris (Nate Robinson for minimum?)
Kobe, Mayo, Glock
Artest, Ebanks, Eyenga
Gasol, Scola (for minimum)
Bynum, Gasol, Scola, Turiak (for minimum)

Like that team.

Goudelock.

I think Goudelock is a so-so backup SG. As a backup PG, he's a nightmare.

Blake isn't any better. G-Lock is a MUCH better player. He gave us what Blake did in about half the time.

I mean...yes, yes he is a better backup PG b/c that's what he's been his entire career. Goudelock isn't a PG, period.

Who on AM 570 said this?
Who was the information sourced to?
Why are there no secondary sources?

Stats say otherwise.

Glock - 4 ppg in 10 mpg

Blake - 5 ppg in 23 mpg

Blake only averages 1 more ppg and he plays 13 more mpg.

Shooting:
Glock: .391-.373-.917
Blake: .377-.335-.778

AST Rate:
Glock: 1.7 assists per 36 minutes
Blake: 3.3 assists per 36 minutes

AST/TO:
Glock: 20 assists to 21 TO
Blake: 174 assists to 72 TO

Offensive Rating/Defensive Rating
Glock: 95/110
Blake: 98/108

Glock shot better. Blake was better at everything else. And Blake actually played against starting competition on occasion. Glock played against scrubs.

This would be awesome. Please let it happen. Marc Spears did report earlier that Lakers were interested in Mayo...and remember, Grizzlies tried to get McRoberts for Mayo a year ago...and trade was submitted too late. I don't understand WHY they would want him now though with Speights and Arthur both re-signed....

You just used points per minute as your entire argument that a player is better than another? Isn't that staggeringly asinine?

We need offense. Glock provides that, Blake doesn't. He sucks and needs to go. Those stats are very deceiving because of the minutes played. Blake plays more so of course his assist numbers are gonna be higher.

I was just saying earlier in the Dwight thread.. If we're able to unload Blake & McBob in that deal, we should use the mini mle on OJ.. I like this idea alot better though

No, the two assist stats were assists per minute and assist/to ratio.

Assists per 36 minutes: Blake hands out assists TWICE as frequently
AST/TO Ratio: Glock's is not as good as 1:1; Blake's is 2.5:1

Blake is, seriously, lightyears ahead of Glock as a decision-maker/passer.

(Incidentally, you argued about who is the better player...not what offense we need; we just added Steve Nash.)

If we could get Brooks for the mini-mle, resign Hill, sign Hill/Jamison for vet mins.

Nash/Brooks/Morris
Kobe/Mayo/Glock
Artest/Hill/Ebanks
Gasol/Jamison
Bynum/Hill

I'd be happy with that
NBA 2k9 team:

Fisher/Rose/Watson
Bryant/Wells
Lee/Ariza/Walton
Gasol/Yi
Bynum/Zo
