Wasn't Charley Rosen very good friends with Phil Jackson? Unless I'm totally off in fact I think one of the books Phil wrote I read was co-authored by a Charley Rosen..
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

His last chance will be next year if the team does not win a championship this year. The Lakers gave Brown a 4 year contract with the first three guaranteed and a team option for the 4th year. The Lakers have to pay Brown 2.5 million if they decide not to pick up the option.

^I don't think he'll be getting another chance if this team doesn't make it past the 2nd round again.

I agree, if healthy there is no excuse for this roster to not make it to at least the conference finals. If they don't at least get there not due to injury, then it's going to be because of poor coaching, a bad offense not utilizing our players how they should be, and Brown should be gone.

Where would Phil rank today?

I will agree that Pop is probably the best, while Brown is definitely overrated. He would be an excellent assistant coach, I'm sure. But he just doesn't have that head coach vibe. And even his lauded defense is not close to Thibodeau's. It's good but not extraordinary.

His defensive schemes got us the 13th ranked defense last season which is really disappointing considering that was supposed to be his strong point. I'm not exactly sure where he got the reputation of being such a good defensive coach in the first place, none of those Cavs teams were anything spectacular defensively.

well what else do you call a coach who can't "coach" (and most people tend to think of offense first)...you call him a defensive-minded coach. then again, that's probably an insult to guys like jeff van gundy, who next to mike brown look like phil jackson in his prime.

Mike Brown did "ok" last season. He'd gotten the Lakers to the second round of playoff, which was about expected. If he'd gotten the Lakers to the western conf finals, then he would have been a good coach. Had he won the nba finals, he would have been a great coach. Expectations are higher this season. Barring any serious injuries to key players in the playoff, the Lakers should make it to the NBA finals. If they don't, Mike Brown should be on the hot seat until it catches "fire". Jim Buss shouldn't hire another coach and he should let "the man" Kupchak handle all basketball related duties.

We know Jimmy hired coach Brown. Who hired former Lakers assistant coach Kuester?

I thought our head coach was trolling but then I remembered our head coach was Mike Brown ...

You got 17 seconds left on the clock , Steve Nash as your PG and the best shot you can get is a turnaround fadeaway 3 ... basically the same shot Kobe used to get with Smush and them on the floor ..
Of course Kobe tendency to take horrible shots doesn't help either ...

If the same thing happens in the regular season , I may stop watching my team until Clown is fired

Seeing the timeout that was mentioned on the previous page when EJ was drawing up the play and Brown was standing there staring at the clipboard with this dumbfounded look on his face (much like the face in the pic on the last page) made me sick to my stomach. Can they just go ahead and switch titles, roles, and pay. It's going to happen at some point.

I lose more faith in Brown with each day and each time he opens him mouth. His latest :bang: worthy statement was the statement he released with the cut of CDR. He's clueless.

I would be 100% happy and content with Jordan and Bickerstaff at the helm of this team right now. I'd love to see Brown canned at this moment.
