If we can afford it makes sense, but wouldn't Meeks be a better focus? Both would be pie!

Would he take the vets minimum? If we could somehow get Miles and Meeks that'd be terrific.

Nash/Blake
Bryant/Meeks
World Peace/Miles
Gasol/Jamison
Bynum/Hill

I had him on my list of guys. He's a decent guy to have around. Only 25, athletic, an alright defender, and an alright offensive player. Nothing special, but for the minimum would be a nice fit.

If we strike out on Meeks, I wouldn't mind Miles. He's definitely a step down, but it's a body I'd be more comfortable with than Goudelock or Odom.

Miles could play both SF/SG, Meeks wouldn't be needed. I guess if Miles signs Ebanks is gone?

Not necessarily. Miles could be the primary backup SG with Ebanks at the 3.

Ebanks is a funny case actually. He's still in limbo for the Howard deal.

Brian T. Smith ‏@tribjazz
C.J. Miles considering signing one or two-year deal with Lakers, source says, likely for mini mid-level.

based on his fg % doesn't appear he can shoot well but couldn't be any worse than Barnes.

Probably has to do with the departure of Deron Williams.

If he signs for the mini-MLE then the Howard saga is ending for the Lakers this off-season. They've said all summer long they're not spending that until they know how things shake out otherwise.

And if they end up using it on Miles isn't that kind of a slap in the face for Jamison? He's clearly worth that money and we didn't give it to him.

I doubt Miles signs here for anything more than the vet. min.

Last year he was off his career averages. Hopefully a change of scenery and a stud PG will do him and the team well.

Per Synergy sports, in isolation situations, Miles held opponents to 28.6%.

There is no way we should be paying Miles the mini mid-level.

I'm thinking it's the other way around. Maybe the Lakers are losing Ebanks and Eyenga in a D12 deal, and would need to get a SF to backup Ron and fill the void created by the loss of those two. The SF market in free agency was already slim before it started....

for vet min sure why not. he didnt play well last year so he shouldnt get mini mid level imo. plus we said were not using that this year. it gives us someone to backup kobe as were still waiting on meeks.

Nash/Blake
Kobe/Miles
MWP/Ebanks
Pau/Jaminson
Bynum/Hill

would like to get meeks and move miles to the 3. sorry ebanks

True but with Jamison, he's old and has made plenty of paper. Youth are always looking out for the wallet and rightfully so. If we can get younger it will take money because trying to do that through the draft has been difficult for us.

That's what I was getting at. Ending didn't necessarily mean we weren't getting Dwight, only that the saga came to a conclusion.

If we're getting Miles, I'm guessing Ebanks or Eyenga is out, probably not both.

Don't google image CJ Miles with your safe search off. :man13:
