I am glad he is playing well because his stock can be high in terms of trade value.

Also, I don't know what he was trying to do with Blake there. This will overshadow the 30 rebound game. We will be talking about it than his 30 rebounds.

I think the injury argument is no longer valid. Both have injury concerns now. A back injury can cut a career short. If I'm the Lakers front office, I'm glad once again I didn't make that trade.

Id still trade him but not for Howard, he's as much of a fame [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] as one can get and probably worse in the maturity dept. than Bynum with his off-court crap that he's put Orl though.

This thread is ludicrous. I'm sorry. I would avoid it, but it's been bumped and I do not understand why. Because Tim Duncan had a good game against Drew?

You do not trade away Bynum. Skilled 7 footers do not grow on trees. The only guy I was willing to trade Bynum for is Howard - and I'm not sure I would do that trade any more now that Howard has back problems. Health and consistency were the only thing I felt Howard had over Drew. Bynum's made a huge stride forward in both and now it looks like Howard is stepping backward at least in the health department. It's looking more and more like a lateral move at best, and maybe just a bad idea, period to make that trade.

Drew isn't going anywhere. If healthy and improving, he's going to be a 20-10 guy every night. He's made great strides this year. We just have to lock him up this offseason.

I agree with the OP. Andrew has a lot of talent, but he simply is not the kind of person that can be successful over the long term. He intentionally sabotages possessions when Kobe has the ball, by hiding behind defenders, and he rarely boxes out or gets down the floor on defense. He is lazy, immature and injury prone. No way we should be investing 20+ million per season on a player like him. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a bench rider in 5 or 6 years, maybe sooner if he gets injured again.

If he is going to be totally dominated by Tim Duncan's corpse, while also averaging 2.5 rebounds per game and shooting a lower percentage than our guards, against an undersized soft team like San Antonio, then we need to re-evaluate exactly how big of a supposed "advantage" his size really gives us. I will be watching him very carefully for the playoffs. He is now on probation. Any sub 10 rebounding games, stupid technical fouls or failures to run the floor, rotate on help defense or box out and I am done with him. His play of late has been ABSURD :bang:
Nash + Howard + Bryant + Artest + Gasol + Jamison + Meeks - Hill - Clark = 33-31? In Playoff race but lots of work left to save season, Lakers could be biggest sports bust of all time. Phil IS NOT walking through that door! D'Antoni still won't play more than 8. Dwight Howard's FT% sinking fast. Kobe's working too hard. Pau cap trade? Clark 2 Expensive 2 keep? MWP amnesty? Absurd overreaction. He's a top 5 center; he's an All Star center; he will not ride pine in 5-6 years; and he just had a 30 rebound game one week ago against the same spurs team. Come on.

I really feel that Bynum, in the last few games, has took some major strides forward. I think his "double technical" days are behind him.

Beyond that, another poster hit it right on the nose: Skilled 7 footers don't grow on trees. I was PISSED that we almost traded Pau Gasol, and trading Bynum would almost be worse. I say that because of age, really. Still, you just don't trade Bynum or Gasol for anyone. Howard is skilled, but he is cocky. Too cocky.

Just my two cents.
