I don't know where all these trolls are coming from, perhaps they are passionate fans and the team just lost.

There is no need for personal insults or the "U mad" spammers.

They haven't brought anything intelligent to this board since the end of the game.

LakersFanInCali, I feel your pain, I'm angry too, but trading Bynum for Howard at this stage is basically exchanging Herpes for Syphilis.

1. Howard is just as immature as Bynum and his antics have hurt the Magic greatly.

2. Howard left his teammates hanging and threw his coach under the bus.

He has just as much baggage as Bynum at this point. The one thing Howard has in his favor is health, but if we had traded for him before the deadline, we risk Howard leaving in the offseason leaving us hanging with nothing. We also risk him being just as big of a disruptive force as Bynum is being right now.

We have to hope Bynum grows up and gets his head together. If he does we have our center for the future. If not we're screwed and I'm not too hopeful on the former.

Some of the comments I'm seeing in this thread are a little ridiculous though.

I know it's risk but I think Howard's production will make up for some of the holes we have on defense. I believe Howard would actually play well with Kobe, someone whom he respects.

Howard has nothing but good things to say about Kobe and they won together during the Olympics.

The risk of him leaving, what I said earlier before the trolls interrupted, was that winning can change a person and I believe he would be much more successful in L.A. than Orlando. It's not a winning culture there where the Lakers came off a great run.

Drew wants his own team and he would be a perfect fit with Orlando. Dwight will flourish under Kobe and he brings maturity and defense to the team.

He's not the future of our team.

This isn't a Andrew Bynum thread....this is a trade thread for the upcoming off season.

Who said Bynum wants his own team?

You are really over reacting. Last time I checked, on Bynum's worst days, he's still the second best center in the game, and is clearly the second best player on this team. As Kobe ages, Bynum will be this team's best player. It would be stupid to trade him just for the hell of it.

If Bynum can't mature, then its time for a new coaching staff. You can't just trade players like Bynum and expect equal value in return. Its much easier to get rid of the coaching staff. And I'll best most of Bynum's problems are somehow related to the incompetence of this coaching staff.

No thanks, I'd rather have the guy who is so into the game he gets ejected for being overly emotional than the guy who just flat out quits I his team and asks for his coach to be fired and wants everything his way. Drew is alsô putting up numbers as a second option that Dwight puts up as the franchise player.

Very good points, Weezy.

We also need to keep in mind that Bynum is only 24 years old. Some players take time to mature in sports culture. Sadly, many can't achieve that by his age. We need to give him more time. He isn't ready to be the number one option because of his maturity level, but who knows how much he could grow in a few years time. He is arguably the best center in the league and to give that up might be a mistake, especially if the player the Lakers would receive in return is not interested in returning after this season.

Let's examine why he had the first technical in the first place:

1. He was fouled by Dalembert that was nothing more than a foul. It wasn't even a hard foul. What does he do? He turns around and charges Dalembert. That is a technical any day regardless he was held back or not.

2. He yelled at the opposing team's bench after he made a great shot. Really? You just made a great move and shot. So act like you have done this before.

100% agree with your overall sentiment. Point of fact was after his first technical, Bynum was asked by MB and team not to pick up another, and he acknowledged it. Then going off and mouthing against the opposition bench after making a shot is just plain stupid....it's inexcusable. I'd cut him more slack if he reacted to something else like a hard foul.....but the kid is mental.

thats not happening. you'd see pau traded for a PF, SF combo before drew.

drew is here to stay

I'm not saying we should. I'm just curious to why every time Bynum's name comes up for a trade it has to be Howard. You would be trading 1 baby for another.

I was thinking the same thing, too. No one is guaranteed to stay in this business. That said, hypothetically, we could command a LOT of really good pieces--more than what we can get out of Pau. Only problem is adjusting to all the new personnel, but it could potentially work if we get a couple of legit all-stars in return.

This thread shows once again the overreaction of the casual Player-First Lakers fan. It also displays how so many fans lack even the basic understanding of what other players can and can't do on other teams. Drew deserves a great deal of criticism for his actions yesterday that is for sure. However, to insist on trading him for a player who is arguably 10 years younger mentally is just as stupid as trading Kobe for Picks because he has some bad shooting games.

If you want people to respond seriously then make a thread that isn't full of emotional garbage.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
