I know I am a very new poster to CL, but I have been reading the forums for close to a year now, and I have followed the CL All-NBA Challenge probably way too close. :man10:

I am an avid NBA fan, obviously a huge Laker fan, and consider myself to have a lot of NBA knowledge from the past and the present. I understand if you guys would want to give older posters the nod over me, but I hope you guys consider me as well.

I don't think I will have time to participate in this challenge, I'll be going back to school soon and that's gotta be my focus. Sounds like a blast though, good luck to everyone who does participate.

I'm in the same situation. Would love to be a part of it, and I'll keep my options open.

I also think that talent pool is a bit deep for only 20 gms. Good luck to everyone though!

Just throwing a suggustion out there, but I don't think we should in include anyone who stopped playing before 1975. I think there would just be too much in the air with the argument of "he was able to that because he played in a league without talent/athleticism/different rules". For example, who knows how good Bob Cousy would have been in todays NBA?

Wait so..

As one of our legend picks, we can't just take prime Shaq? You'd have to take him, do the wand, and lose a pick?

Say you have the 3rd overall pick in the draft, and you want to take Shaquille O'Neal. You can do so, but unless you say you're going to use the wand on him when you draft him, he's going to be considered Shaq as of now.

You use the wand before you get the chance to draft the 3rd legend.

Right now I'm still working out the rules. This is just a template so far.

Drafting is something me and L4L are addressing. He made a good point that people who pick in the top five or so are going to have a HUGE advantage with Jordan, Hakeem, Bird, etc.

Right now I'm considering 24 GM's and a newer draft style (1st pick all the way until the last, then back around once more... but AFTER the person who picks first gets their second pick it goes right back to the person who picks last. It will then go from GM 24 to the 1st GM for the rest of the draft to make it a more level playing field.

Why not do it kind of like Fantasy basketball? Randomized order, than switch it around every 2 rounds. So for example, lets say me and you are the only two GM's. It would go:

Round 1:
Kobe Bryant 8
LDR

Round 2:
LDR
Kobe Bryant 8

Round 3:
LDR
Kobe Bryant 8

Round 4:
Kobe Bryant 8
LDR

That's how we did it before, but think about it like this.

I get the first overall pick and take Hakeem, who's probably the best big man in this competition. When it comes time for the 24th GM to pick twice in a row, the talent pool will be so heavily watered down that the two legends they pick (for example, Dumars and Worthy) will still fail in comparison to my Hakeem and who I get with the 48th overall.

I'm working on making this as fair as possible.
