Payton's Contract

Malone faxed his signed contract, a two-year deal worth about $3.2 million, from his Arkansas ranch. Payton has a two-year contract worth $10.4 million. He can opt out after the first season.

I don't like this opt out thing, that means he AND Kobe can leave after next year. We can use the Bird rule on Kobe, but not on Payton next summer. Hopefully Karl is a solid two years, no opt out, I'm thinking it is. Dangit Gary! I think he still wants his payout before he retires.
