Rumor: Lakers Interested in Ray Allen

Rumor: Lakers Interested in Ray Allen

Postby PoisonApple on Tue Jun 12, 2012 7:05 pm

Is he in? Is he out? A few weeks ago, Lakers Nation talked about the possibility of Ray Allen becoming a Laker next season. Ryan Ward, LN writer, wrote about the Allen’s free agency and the impact the Celtics’ player could have on the court. Now, according to Ian Thomsen of Sports Illustrated, Ray Allen could actually be suiting up in Purple and Gold.

After their loss to the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, it appears as though the ‘Big Three’ will be dissolving. Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce have made the Celtics a powerhouse since 2007. But with Allen getting older and suffering multiple injuries this season, Boston is most likely not going to pick him up. Allen could be a huge asset for the Lakers’ outside shooting. But this acquisition will only be beneficial if Allen remains healthy. At 37, it is more than likely he may suffer more injuries.

Pass. Too old. That's why we sent Fisher packing.

We need shooters and slashers who can/will play D.

Are we trying to get Boston's big 3 to pair with Kobe and Bynum next year? Sure seems like it....

What is with the influx of LakerNation rumors?

Here is the actual article if you want to read it. Absolutely no substance to the Lakers connection. It's one brief mention in a list of teams supposedly interested in him. Lame.

Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”

Ugh, definitely hope that's not true, unless it's for the minimum as a bench player.
