Refering to Kareems scoring record, Malone said. “It’s kind of ironic it would happen in a Laker uniform.�
It will probably take most of two seasons for Malone to break the record.
Johnson told Malone he could wear his No. 32, which the Lakers retired, and Malone had said he would. But Malone changed his mind Thursday.
“I don’t think 32 should be taken out of the rafters,� Malone said. He didn’t say which number he will wear.

I think this was a smart move by the Mailman. Wearing the # 32 would have rubbed me the wrong way. How about #23, it's not taken
