Should we play our core players on Thursday?

Postby revgen on Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:48 pm

We've clinched the #3 seed, but it may be a good idea to play 1 game without Ron in the lineup just to get a feel for what we're going to do in the postseason since he's going to be missing 7 games.

Should we rest our core guys, or play them on Thursday to give them a chance to get a feel for each other heading into the postseason?

i think they should throw out what will be our starting lineup in the playoffs for a few minutes...but other than that mostly rest. our SFs are dropping like flies

As I said in the other thread about this, I would rest Kobe, Pau, Andrew, Barnes and Sessions.

I would rest Bynum and Pau, but give Kobe a couple minutes. See if he can shake off some of the rust.

Should mods lock the other thread and merge with this one?
And yes, look what happened to Kobe in the pre-season, we don't need him to get an injury in a meaningless game right before the playoffs.
Edit: I meant to say we shouldn't play them. Especially Kobe.

I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

Barnes apparently isn't even making the trip out to Cowtown. I'd play KGB for the first half and have them sit the rest of the way.

No ... there is no need to risk an injury in a meaningless game ... and when you intentionally don't play at full speed because you don't care , the risk of getting hurt is actually quite high

In the other thread, I was for playing them at least for the 1st half, but with Barnes / MWP / Ebanks all hurt or suspended I'd rest K-G-B-R because it's not worth another injury as we are thin at SF as it is.

Let Blake / Morris / Glock / Eyenga / McFly / Hill / Murphy run the show for the last game and rest everybody else.

This is [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]... I spent 200 bucks on my tickets and it wasnt to see Troy Murphy and Blake:::

I guess it will be cool to see some of the younger players play and I'd much rather go into Arco knowing we are the pacific division champs.....

Last yr I had a heart attack when we almost lost the 2 seed ...

Kobe will know how many points he will need to win the scoring title too.

I'd sit Barnes and also Sessions if his shoulder is really bothering him.

Plan on giving Blake, Morris, Goudelock, Ebanks, Hill, McRoberts and Murphy a lot of time, and limit Kobe, Gasol and Bynum each to about 20 mins tops.

Damn that sucks bro.

I vote yes but qualify it by saying 20 mins only. It's meaningless win but not a meaningless game for our starters if Ebanks is going to start at SF in the first round. They should play 20 mins or so just to get some more rhythm with him against a NBA team.
