Snoop Dogg instagrams that OJ Mayo is soon joining Lakers...

While this probably won't qualify as typical "insider" information, Snoop put out an instagram this morning that this masked man will be joining the Lakers soon. That's OJ Mayo in the pic in case you're wondering. Obviously no details on FA or trade specifics, but will be interesting if it's true.

And let's face it... While I do think this is still pretty unlikely, OJ Mayo giving Snoop a word is more believable than some beat-writer or twitter journalist citing "unknown sources that are close to a unknown source that is close to OJ Mayo's camp".

He's not a fan of any team but the Lakers. He just wears those jerseys when he performs in those cities to get the crowd in to the his performance. Whenever he does a performance at a venue he requests a jersey of the local team.

I know this is a little off topic, but I heard when Snoop did the movie Soul Plane he asked Kobe to do a cameo. Kobe said no cuz he had something to do in Colorado. We all know what happened back then. Who woulda thunk hanging around with Snoop back then woulda kept Kobe outta trouble?

I give a damn about where he's from. I was born and raised 20 minutes away from Long Beach... it's the same reason why I root for Harden and Westbrook. Local boys. Us around these parts still know that Snoop still reps the Lakers hard.

People are all over Jack Nicholson's nuts but no one gave him any crap when he went to 2nd rd. Clipper playoff games in '06 (after the Lakers were eliminated by the Suns). Who the F cares? Snoop means a lot to Cali and the local community, and I want to represent that amidst all the Snoop bashing.

And if you're somehow diminishing the notions/opinions of the Lakers' local fans and community, you might as well root for the Lakers from another planet. Texas is a start...

Did Jack wear a Clippers or Suns jersey to those games? No he didn't. Snoop Dogg wore a CELTICS jersey. No one who wears a Celtics jersey is a legit Lakers fan. How the hell am I diminishing local Lakers fans opinions? Learn how to read. Nowhere did I say that.

I'll take his opinion just as much as the Bartender's.
