Are the Lakers considering A.I.?

Are the Lakers considering A.I.?

Postby The Black Mamba on Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:55 pm

I believe signing him could be the difference between having a great team,
and having a legendary team that people still talk about 100 years from now.
Why would the Lakers not want to sign him? Why would Iverson not want
to play here? I would be in favor of the Lakers using the LLE to sign him.
I hope this happens...

Starting Line-up

Bynum
Pau
Artest
Iverson
Kobe

Bench
Fisher
Odom
Walton
Morrison
Sasha
Famar
Brown
Mbenga
Powell

Point taken! But it would be scary for the other 29 teams in the league!!!

if he wants to come off then bench to replace Vujacic then sign him up.

yea He still has the "super-star" mentality, I doubt he settles for a role player position on any team.

NO!

And all we can offer is the minimum. That's much less than he's been offered in Memphis and Miami.

on paper......

:man4:

for peanuts, id try that on just because i love to play nba 2k9 and im a fan. but it may not be such a good thing.

but id looooooove to see the responses from haters and fans across the league.

talk about a counter punch to cleveland, boston and orlando.

firstly, he is looking for the MLE

secondly, we used our LLE on Shannon, since we didn't have his rights.

thidly, we look like we might already have issues with players taking shots. unless we can convince the NBA to add another ball, i don't think we can handle AI.

honestly i wouldn't be opposed to it if he put his ego/star mentality aside.

but as we learned from his Detroit stint he wont accept that role.

the iverson i know jacks up 20 shots per game... and there is not room for that. more like 3-5.

Why? He's a ball dominator. If he came he could be the bench scorer, but that's about it. The Lakers already have arguably the greatest scorer of all time in Kobe Bryant.

Hill is a VetMin type guy. AI? Not this year. I'd love to see him in LAL, but it's not going to happen without a trade. It would take LO & AI to do a S&T for this to happen. I don't see it.

AI needs a ring:

I like the idea very much, but only if he will agree to limit his role to leading the 2nd team - and to play for about the league minimum.
But, he might, for a ring!

Wow, it would be fantastic! Maybe it is an unique opportunity. We have a great team, Allen Iverson is free, he wants to win a Championship... we lack of a point-guard, although I know that Phil Jackson usually plays without a pure PG (Paxson or Fisher aren´t pure point-guards, even Ron Harper wasn´t a pure PG). Our big rivals have a quick PG (San Antonio, Cleveland, Orlando, Boston, Portland, even the Hornets have a great one...).

I think that Allen wouldn´t hurt us, every All-Star Weekend (I know that it is a different kind of game) we can see his talent, he always bright. He is a great ball-handling, he can score if we need but he can pass too if needed, as he is quick and a great ball-handling.

Allen Iverson in Boston or Cleveland will convert to these teams in terrible contenders and even harders rivals than nowadays, and Allen Iverson in L.A. ... a kind of coming-back Showtime!!

Allen Iverson
Kobe Bryant
Ron Artest
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum
Lamar Odom
Derek Fisher
Adam Morrison
Josh Powell
Luke Walton
Sasha Vujacic
Shannon Brown
Jordan Farmar
DJ Mbenga

An Historic Team.

Go Lakers !!

iverson can easily get his 15 pts if he wanted to come off the bench. LO and AI in our second unit? haha it wouldnt even be fair.

its not happening though. haha
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

If they wanted to get away from the triangle and have him drive/kick/shoot and dish to Kobe/Pau/Bynum in the post I could see it working.

He obviously feels he has a lot to offer and isn't finished yet, I really don't see him butting heads or throwing fits on a true championship team with a legend like Kobe heading it and Phil.

I'd like to see it, but it's only fiction would never happen. He's still a freakin beast and super quick though I can see Kobe and him drawing 2 players in the same possession and causing just havoc on the court down low.

Not in a million years even for the minimum. Look at the last two teams before and after he left. Denver went from a barely making the playoff to almost beating the lakers. Philadelphia went from missing the playoff to making the playoff. Iverson shoots a lot and throws up a lot of bricks. I wouldn't even trade sasha for him. Sasha can still hound with his defense. His shooting may return this season. But I think our guards are set this year. Actually the team just won a championship so you want to avoid making any changes.

I think , it will be a great idea. He wants to win a ring, therefore he will do anything and he will follow all the instruction to end his career with a ring. He has his image as a good player to keep, and at that age if we tell jump, he will say how hight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
