Can we come in at the last second and SWOOP Amare?

I know it's risky, but just for fun, wouldn't that be something?

Let's say its the last hour, better yet, last 30 minutes before the deadline, and our old friend Mitch decides to be evil and join the Amare sweepstakes. He picks up the phone, calls SARVER (idiot who is losing leverage by looking desperate)..and lets say that Miami doesnt want to trade Beasley and instead is offering Marion and Cook, instead of Beasley....and lets also say the Bulls suddenly wanna play hardball too and dont wanna include Tyrus Thomas, who the suns want, and they throw in, Ben Gordon instead....

So Sarver is freaking out..thinking he cant get what he wants...when suddenly, Mitch comes in and offers him Lamar, Morrison, and a 1st, and if we can't trade Morrison, lets jus say its Luke instead.

Sarver bites cuz he's desperate and loves Lamar Odom's expiring K, or better yet, is intrigued by Lamar's abilities...

Can you guys imagine Pau, Amare, and Kobe on the same team? And then throw in Bynum when he comes back? I know Pau, Amare or Bynum would have to come off the bench...and of those 3 it would prolly be Bynum due to his injury...but wow that would unreal!

You guys think we should jump into the Amare sweepstakes? I mean we are the best team in the L and its risky to mess with chemistry right now...but damn players like Amare don't come around often and he would be SICK next to Kobe...

Thoughts?

Amare wants to be the star of the team, he is tired of being the second fiddle, with him coming here he would probably be the third behind Kobe and Gasol or maybe even the 4th once Bynum gets back, and Amare isnt going to be ok with that. With that being said, why in the world would we trade Odom right now when he is certainly balling it up for someone that will probably come in here and break our chemistry?? It doesnt make sense. Amare is more talented than Odom, no doubt, but Amare is not the player we need, we dont need to fix what it aint broken. Amare is all about money and attention, not about winning and chemistry. And by the way, we cant trade Morrison in a package deal right now, and we dont own a 1st round pick, which was aslo one of the reasons Mitch traded for Morrison.

It's hard to come up with a worse idea. :P

I don't think we are interested. We just need to be healthy with who we have.

I highly doubt Stoudemire is getting traded for Odom, Morrison, and a 1st (which isn't even a good pick to begin with). On top of that, the Suns would be helping out the Lakers and setting them up for the future.

And if there was a trade being talk about, it would have to include Gasol + Odom + Farmar in which case Mitch hangs up the phone.

No one earns that much money as Gasol+Odom together. Add Farmar, and you have a 30 million contract. To imagine that Shaq was once asking for this kind of money is mind-boggling.

I would much rather have odom with this team than amare....

We really don't have the pieces to make it work. I know Odom's name will come up but just look for a second how valuable Lamar is now that Drew is out and how much more valuable he will be when Drew comes back.

With Drew out, Lamar plays excellently well in the starting lineup and alongside Pau. When Drew comes back, Lamar gives us the length off the bench. Amare would not fit in the same way Lamar does in the lineup. You may get the same rebounding and offense but we lose the one big factor we take for granted sometimes with Lamar: he can run the offense both for the starting lineup AND the second unit. Amare can't.

Plus when Drew comes back, who plays off the bench? Drew? Pau?

We don't have that kind of $$$$.

We have like three All Star players and Odom who is borderline All Star when he wants to be.

Unfortunately this isn't like NBA 2K9 where the pay roll doesn't matter.

^^^^what, have you not played NBA2k lately? lol, if you play GM mode, your team salary does matter and you can get fired if you dont make money.

I used to rig the system in 2k8 so that I could put Shaq, Yao Ming, and Baron Davis on the team.

Amare is to stupid to learn the triangle offense. We have the best record in the league, we do not need to trade for anyone.

2. Amare is not needed, Gasol is better.
