Could we get 2 All Stars in 2012?

Postby LAKEROC on Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:46 am

I was just thinking of this the other day. If we were able to trade next season for Dwight Howard for Andrew Bynum+ Luke walton+ 1st round pick, WOULD we have ANy money availab le to offer Deron Williams to come over here in the summer of 2012?

Williams
Bryant
Artest
Gasol
Howard

I know its probably unrealistic to think about, but could this theoretically happen, and would we have money to sign Williams if we traded for Dwight?

You should be happy that you haven't been insulted yet.

There absolutely is NO WAY to get 2 all-stars....

it doesn't work salary wise, it doesn't work in any case.

Mitch Kupchak planned everything about as good as anyone could. THe summer of 2013/14/15 are going to be big free agent summers for us.

After this current core of players finish their run, we will be in excellent shape to move foward.

The only way we can get Dwight via trade is if we offer to take on Arenas... At this point...may not be a bad idea.. Offer Bynum, Artest and Luke and I think they at least consider it!

If we trade for Dwight Howard, we will have to give up Bynum AND Odom. If we take on Arenas' contract, then we can probably unload Walton back to them, and get Brandon Bass as well. Steve Blake would go in the deal to replace Arenas as their back up to Nelson. Our roster would actually be pretty darn good.

PG: Arenas / Fisher
SG: Kobe / Shannon
SF: Artest / Barnes / Ebanks
PF: Gasol / Caracter
C: Howard / Bass

We would have FOUR open roster spots for draft picks and free agents, we would get rid Walton, and we would still have a really solid bench. The loss of Odom hurts, but Brandon Bass and Derrick Caracter should be able to replace his points and rebounds, and that's not even counting the +6 in points going from Blake to Arenas and the +11.6 points, +4.7 rebounds and +.4 blocks we would get going from Bynum to Howard. I would make this deal ASAP if I were mitch.
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.
