Getting a disgruntled allstar?

It's KG. Lakers asked about him and so have other teams.

He also bought a house in L.A.... but still that's a long shot. McHale's gonna play tough with Mitch if they ever talked.

It's looking more and more likely that it's definitely Francis. I don't want him here though. He needs the ball in his hands to create offensively... that's gonna give us another Gary Payton-esque situation to deal with.

Id take magloire or francis...

If francis didnt work out, we could always trade him for quality players.

I can see why PJ would not want Francis. Please don't let it happen.

Because his team sucks? And if he comes here, he knows that he has a fantastic coach, one of the best players ever, Odom, and more.

i think magloir can have an impact like divac had after our last playoff miss. i'm not saying that he is the divac type of player but he can get our a**ses back in the playoffs.

Of course you do. It makes too much sense. Blast me after we get Francis though, and I'll eat crow.

per Brock at LG, it is not Francis. As well, he poo-pooh'ed this story, saying that OF COURSE we are talking to every single disgruntled all-star. Doesn;t mean it's happening. THe example he used was the FACT that nearly every team in the league checks in on Kobe every year, to see if he might become available. Doesn't mean he is going to.

I wouldn't mind if it was mags either... in fact I hope it is b/c that means we could trade up in the same trade and get the #4.... however, as all of u have said why would Jax not want him... but maybe b/c he's 6'11'' and has not been too sucessful (career: 9.5pts, 7.4 reb.) i really don't know why he wouldn't want him though, maybe he has plans for mihm? I can see why he wouldn't want Z tho... kind of old and has injury problems.

Recent article from emplay: http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_13091.shtml

He says:
Targets could include Carlos Boozer, Steve Francis, Jamaal Magloire, Al Harrington, PJ Brown, Peja Stojakovic, Jason Kidd, Stephon Marbury, Drew Gooden, Kelvin Cato, Danny Fortson, Rasho Nesterovic, Theo Ratliff and Nick Van Exel, among others.

Think about it...why wouldn't Phil want Magloire? There are plenty of reasons why he wouldn't want Marbury. I'm not going to blast you at any point. I just don't think there's any sort of consensus here as you suggest.

i dont think 'disgruntled allstar' implies 'disgruntled potential allstar'

anyway, we already tried to get nene...and failed.
