marion for odom AND butler? nay. i wouldn't even do odom for marion straight up, but i like odom.

odom for kmart? mmmm, probably not. odom for nene and something else? i'd consider it.



love danny's proposal #2:

caron/10th pick/mihm/future first

for

4th pick/magloire

i may even sweeten the deal further if new orleans was actually interested.

bugs get a young center (downgrade, but he's got potential and a good contract), a starting sf (again solid player with room to grow), a lotto pick and a future first. still not sure they do it, but it would be nice...

i'll take a stab:

-do the bender deal (slava/george/2nd for bender/17)
-caron/10/vlade's buyout/chucky for boozer/borchardt/giricek(basically remove odom and the 6th pick from danny's proposal and replace with chucky and giricek--lakers may need to throw in a filler like cook)
-draft jack at 17
-MLE to antonio daniels
-maxiell with the second rounder

mihm/borchardt/pick vlade back up

i think that's a playoff team. young, too.

With the 7th Pick, I'd draft Raymond Felton. A Felton-Alston combination for the next three seasons wouldn't be too bad. With the 16th Pick, I'd choose Ike Diogu. Rafael Araujo would make for a decent backup PF/C with some potential. Overall, I don't think this lineup is too bad:

PG: Rafer Alston/Raymond Felton
SG: Kobe Bryant/Sasha Vujacic
SF: Lamar Odom/Jumaine Jones
PF: MLE Signee/Ike Diogu/Brian Grant

Why for the Lakers ?


They need to rebuild at three postitions, getting the 8th pick and having the 10th pick in the lottery will have have them fill all 3 holes . Draft Frye at 8th Felton at 10th and Sweetney as theire future Power Forward.

Caron Butler..... a young player who has been consistently been compared to Paul Pierce, with more athletism. He has quick hands and loves to drive in through the hole Rebounds well and has a good post game... has the talent and the desire to be a star in the league... .
As for Sweetney, he really didnt do much last year. at the 8th spot the knicks wont find a small forward like Butler .

-Tim Thomas and Anfernee Hardaway Will be up for grabs during the feb Deadline, and this gives us alot help for a low post player .

i would do that deal so fast the bugs' gm's head would spin. which is what makes me think it can't happen. it's a great deal for the lakers, but only a decent deal for the hornets. if it was possible to remove chucky and west from the deal (if that doesn't totally screw up the numbers), then i think new orleans is more likely to do it. unless they really want chucky for some reason. if the lakers threw in something else of value, i could see it, i suppose.

i just think magloire and the 4 is worth more than caron, mihm, and the 10. put it this way, i don't think the hornets would trade magloire for caron/mihm, and they certainly wouldn't trade 4 for 10. if the lakers threw in the 17, maybe....

This people somehow ONLY want to get rid of Odom for a guard Why is that so difficult to understand that we would be killed on the boards with out Odom (and no replacement) What should we do with Butler :man7:

No, thats a flat our horrible idea, not enough PT for Caron. We'd have to trade Caron to make this work. The bottom line is, if we trade Odom, we HAVE to get an impact big man. The last thing we need to do is trade for a SF. PG or PF thats it.
