we then proceed to increase depth by picking up larry hughes and rafer alston to one year contracts. hughes provides defense and alston gives that scoring threat. With these trades we take pressure off of kobe giving him another scorer. we also increase our depth at the center position. we also could sign 2 backup bigs but im unsure of who is available at this time....

Good god no.

Trade 1: Denver does not want Artest.

Trade 2: Perhaps you haven't realized yet that Portland will never trade significantly with the Lakers. It's written into their mission statement. Go back and look. You'll only find a couple of trades in 35+ years, all of 13th type guys or invisible draft picks. They hate L.A. on the whole, not just the Lakers, and would not do anything to help L.A's dominance even if it meant they'd be a million times improved.

i think our team is pretty effecting we just need a better. if we can get a better power forward to add than yes but i dont agree with those trades.
