perfect luke walton trade idea

perfect luke walton trade idea

Postby crazylakerfanforlife on Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:05 pm

so i have been thinking of ways we can get rid of luke without losing one of our key guys along with him. the only way get rid of him is taking a bad contract in return.
heres my trade
lakers get:
trenton hassel 4,350,000 2 years remaining
eduadro najera 3,250,000 4 years remaining

new jersey get:
luke walton 4,420,000 5 years remaining
chris mihm 2,500,000 1 year remaining

before you all say thats such a stupid idea. trenton hassel is a good defender and a decent shooter. eduadro najera is basically their version of luke walton. new jersey gets an expiring and vet/ playoff experience + high bball iq. and remember this that new jersey is still in the playoff hunt in the east.

So we trade one Luke Walton for two Luke Walton's?

No offense, but I'll pass.

Why would they want Luke's contract? Luke is not tradable. Sorry guys...

we do this because we only pay najera for 4 years while luke is for 5 years. they do this because we give them imediate cap relieve and take a multiple year contract in return.

Trust me man, I like the idea, but no one wants Luke's contract, or him for that matter. He stays.

ya i know what you mean, but every time i see him in the starting lineup i just want to kill myslef. i can't imagine the frustration kobe goes through knowing that one of the worst players on the team is starting.

True, but right now even though he's not great, he's at least adequate. And until he gets to the point where he becomes a blatant liability, he's going to be there... We just have to suck it up and push through it.

i wish we have james jones but no way heats will trade him, because either james jones or jamario moon might be the starting SF.

Not a particular fan of Jones, but he's still an upgrade on Luke so they would be taking the same contract for a lesser player.

That's who I was thinking of a few weeks ago, and the Heat owe us too.

james jones is not even in the rotation in miami. we can pull this out. i know hes better than that i have seen him in portland and phoenix. hes a shooter with alot better d than luke. and when he was in indianna he was a real good slasher as well,

jones is a good role player and passer and shooter. But no way heats would need a bigger contract (luke) or more SF in their lineup

Hassell is a great defender. But you don't give any explanation why NJ would ever make that deal. I think they would turn it down in a heartbeat.
