Philly/La ?

Philly/La ?

Postby bb7793 on Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:48 pm

Lakers trade Cook to Philly in exchange for Kyle Korver.
I think Philly would do it because they need more size and this would free up some time for John Salmons who they are afraid to let go. Cook would help them out as he spaces the floor. Korver could be the dead eye shooter we need in the triangle. He is much cheaper then Peja and can still stroke it. He is no worse on defense then Luke

He's a good edition and excellent shooter, but I believe he resigned a contract and it's huge for backup.

Had we signed him last year, it would have been nice...now, it won't work.

no chance in hell philly is doing this deal. cook has never shown talent, the guy sucks on D and shoots a lot and makes very littrle of his shots, while Korer has proven to be a decent shooter. i would surely love to make this deal but i doubt philly would do this they would probably want more players or a draft pic.

I like Kyle Korver a lot. But would I trade Cook for him? Honestly no. They are pratically the same player at different positions. They both hoist up a lot of 3's. Now Korver is a much better shooter than Cook, but I really doubt that Philly would accept Cook for Korver.

The only reason I bring this up is that they need someone to back up Cwebb and to take some pressure off of AI. I think they would do it to clear some space for resigning AI2 in a year or so as well. Just an idea, but yes they are similar players, but Philly doesnt exactly have a ton of great bigs!

Interesting deal. Korver has tried to expand his game especially handling the ball but, with AI demanding the ball alot it has hinder his progress. I wonder how he would do as a SG here. Now that we have Turiaf to be honest we can send Cook on his way.

Cook was 24th overall and our best bench player in terms of offensive ability. The guy is one of the best shooting big men in the game today. Second round value? If he's in the right system, he could definitely flourish.

It's a lateral move. They're essentially the same player.

I agree. I think he is actually slightly more valuable due to the fact that he is 6'10" and causes big men to leave the lane to guard him at the arc.

you guys are right they might be the same player in different positions but aat least we woulodn't expect things for korver to do like rebound the ball and stuff, things we espect from a PF. but i don't think this is gonna happen.

Why would they have traded for Jamal Mashburn? Why would they have traded for Chris Webber? They arent exactly know for making the best moves for the team.
