Is Russell Westbrook an option?

Is Russell Westbrook an option?

Postby LAKEROC on Tue Oct 20, 2009 7:53 pm

The guy is from Long Beach, went to UCLA, grew up a Huge Laker fan, has good height, excellent speed, sees the court extremly well, and plays amazing defense. Is their any chance in hades that th Lakers could put together a package of expiring contracts of Adam Morrison and Jordan Farmar and maybe their 1st rounder this year for Russell Westbrook? I am assuming no. However, this trade looks about as even as the Gasol one and look what happened there. Westbrook would be amazing on this team, and the Lakers would have theirnew dynamic duo of the future set (Westbrook-Bynum).

To Oklahoma City
G-Jordan Farmar
F-Adam Morrison
#1 pick

To Lakers
G-Russell Westbrook

I do not think the Thunder are looking to give up Westbrook, he's one of their best players.

Westbrook is a stud. This is like a Thunder fan offering Earl Watson, Robert Swift and a 2nd rounder for Bynum.

No chance. He's part of their foundation. We have to give up either Gasol, Kobe, or Andrew for him.

Not happening.

I think you should buy the Thunder, and then make that trade, LAKEROC.

You forgot to add 'yell' at the end man! Haha.

This really should be moved to that useless or groundless trade and signings thread that's buried in the site somewhere. I mean ... in theory, one could post is [Insert NBA player name here] an option? Ughh.... offseason.

I see where you're coming from about the Gasol trade, but that doesn't happen all the time. Not only that, the Gasol trade happened because the Grizzlies wanted to shed salary and wanted some prospects.

Westbrook isn't costly. He's younger than either Farmar or Ammo while also being a much better talent. It just doesn't make much sense both ways.

only chance of this happening is signing him through free agency when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Thunder can offer him the most money. But we're the Lakers. Should be fun to see how this plays out. I know for sure a lot of ppl thought Westbrook went too high...it's funny cuz he might be just as good as Derrick Rose and OJ Mayo when it's all said and done, if not better.
