Heat May Consider Signing Curry

Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com believes that the Heat will consider signing Eddy Curry, who was bought out by the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Minnesota acquired him in a trade from New York last week.

"Look at the end of some of the playoff team benches. I know it's a punch line but Curry will get looked at by teams. Including Heat," Windhorst wrote on his Twitter page.

If we meet them in the Finals, he'd be another big body to throw at Pau. Do you think we should strategically sign him to keep him from the cHEAT?

I think the Lakers are making a mistake by not making any changes at all. Every team needs new blood sometimes. I dont care if you wont three titles straight, you need an infusion of something different or new.

I understand the Original Posters concern. A lot of people are going to laugh at and trivialize this thread but it is legit. Eddie Curry is an above average center in the NBA when his head is right and he is healthy, if you dont believe me, check his stats. In a sense, I think the goal is to keep Curry from going to a contender where he might get his head right (ala dennis Rodman with the bulls and pistons).

I dont know if curry is worth obtaining in order to keep him from Miami. I do know that it was disappointing to see Boston make moves and then replenish their roster with a bought out player (troy Murphy). I thought we shouldve done a little more to counter that. Shaq is better than Perkins and you better believe that he will be ready for the playoffs. We shouldve done more.

He is a HUGE body for us and if he can get 10-15 mins for us. Give Bynum or Gasol a rest, grab some boards, changes some shots, and bang with the bigs. I am for it, as long as hes not a distraction to the team. Ratliff is out for the season, I dont see why not.

The position that Mbenga had last year is absent. Ratliff's career is probably over. We really have no back-up at the 5. Caracter's not the answer this season. Other than money, I'm not sure what the hesitancy is in bolstering the roster for the final push.

Did Miami also sign Bibby? I know that they let Arroyo go to clear one roster spot for Mike. How do they plan on adding Curry? Amazing that they're able to keep adding players. I don't get it.

Not sure why Mitch hasn't picked up a back up center yet...especially with Ratliff out.

I can't tell if several of you are being sarcastic or not, but umm...

You either have no idea who Eddy Curry is or you're a complete tard if you think LA should go after him.

^ Take it easy with the "tard" comments please.

And the OP is being completely sarcastic, it's his style. I'm actually shocked that so many people are actually considering this... Have any of you guys seen Curry play in the last few years? Well no, because he hasn't played in a long time. And even when he has gotten on a court, he usually can only make the trip up and down the floor twice before he passes out.

The guy is fat garbage. That's it. Let Miami have him.

I thought the :man10: was a dead giveaway.

Yeah, I wouldn't take him, and it would flat out entertain me if they picked him up. However, it would not entertain me if they picked him up and then he suddenly turned into a decent center again. I don't think he's capable of playing more than 5 minutes at a time without getting hurt.

Never mind, I totally take back what I said without considering that he hasnt played this season and he looks like he weighs in at about one and a half Shaqs. Wow, I feel like an idiot :bang:

Again I can't tell if you're joking, this guy is horrible. I'd rather he DID sign with the Heat because he won't play and if he does he'll be horrible for them, fat, lazy, he won't rebound or play d, don't want him.

wow he looks more like a player in the nfl than in the nba. a body that big will certainly give you heel problems, shin splits, ham strings etc etc. no wonder he is often injured.
