3-team trade idea - for Wallace, Scola, Felton

Lakers get: Wallace, Scola, Felton
Portland gets: Martin, Artest, Barnes, Dragic
Rockets get: Gasol, Matthews

Would it make sense for all involved though? I know it's not the sexy big name trade everyone else is talking about, but it gets us a PG upgrade, a SF upgrade, and a solid PF to replace Pau. We lose size and skill at PF, but gain speed and a couple more players that can create their own shot at SF and PG.

I know Houston would like to have Gasol, but I don't know if Portland gets enough in return. I don't know that Martin is something they'd want it all centered around, but they get depth at SF, albeit a downgrade, and they get scoring with Martin and some defense from Artest (whatever defense he still plays).

I don't know. What do you guys think? My gut tells me Portland wouldn't want to do it.

You're right, they're not getting anything of real value out of it, be it expiring contracts or any real upgrade at any position except for maybe with Martin and that's questionable too I suppose. Any way to modify that deal to make it work better?

Portland downgrades a lot and they would never trade with LA.

Lakers get: Scola, Lowry, Foye
Houston gets: Gasol, Williams, Ebanks (or Goudelock)
Clippers get: Martin

Clippers want more scoring, and Martin could provide more of that for them, and Mo would be a good trade asset for them to get that. It would work for the Lakers obviously - Lowry makes up for the downgrade in Scola and Foye gives them a little more depth, though you could drop Foye and it still works. I'm just not sure if Houston would trade Lowry even with the upgrade in Gasol. It would seem that the downgrade to Williams would be offset by the upgrade with Gasol and a young prospect with potential - maybe throw a first rounder to make it sweeter?

Thoughts?

The Clippers' depth has been exaggerated. They're not going to trade away both Williams and Foye because that leaves them with too little to work with. Even with Martin coming back.
