Our best bet is to get one of these players via trade. Half of them will resign with their current team while the other half will be traded away in 07 before their contract expires. We should jump on some of the expiring contracts and let them see how a real franchise is.

Wow... good post man thanks for upping it.

Looks like a possible 2 SOLID player additions in 08 would be possible as we stand right now...

Do we just keep solid players and Kobe and add 1 huge player or dish everyone except kobe and add 2 solids? :man3:

Laker managment needs to pull somthing out of the hat before the trade deadline ends, kobe needs some immediate help and if it doesnt work out completely then we could always use him as trade bait.

Based on this topic... here are the people IN ORDER id love to have a chance at for us in 08'...

Emeka Okafor
Andre Iguodala
Gilbert Arenas
Baron Davis
Ben Gordon
Richard Hamilton
Jason Kidd
Jermaine O'Neal
Ron Artest
Corey Maggette
Shawn Marion
Steve Francis
Tim Duncan
Dwight Howard
Elton Brand

I cant see any or much of these guys being available to us... but there are many who concrete WILL NOT leave... and there are some youngs who would be a dream...and some vets who though i doubt it... its not out of question if we COULD have a chance at them

ARe you serious about the order????
Dwight Howard is the absolute top notch player outta this pool.
My list in order would look like
Dwight Howard
Chris Bosh
Emeka Okafor
Jermaine O´Neal
Elton Brand
Ben Gordon
Ron Artest

The rest is either too old then or not exactly a perfect fit for us.
Kidd would be 35-36, Duncan 33 and I want a young star then.

LeBron James is who we need

Having James play the role of facilitator in the Triangle offense, with Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown and Andrew Bynum would destroy the entire league.

That might work on Playstation, but this is the NBA.
Kwame will be a free agent in '08 and LBJ will be locked up ASAP just like Amare & Yao.
