Why can't we do this?

I keep hearing how New Orleans LOVES Gasol. Then why can't we do Gasol straight up for Paul? I would be more than fine with that trade. I don't understand why we have to include Houston. Why can't we go staright to New Orleans with this deal?

We then move on To Dwight, and offer Drew/ trade exception and Dallas' first rounder next year for Dwight Howard

I haven't heard the Hornets loving Pau, it was the Rockets that wanted him so they could have a front court of Nene and Pau.

Maybe so, my mistake. Even so, that's a more than equitable trade, given that in 66 games the guy isn't going tobe there, and the longer you wait, the less return on your investment you are going to receive. Also, didn't I hear something about Chris Paul's agent demanding that Monday be the deadline for something to happen, otherwise litigation was going to take place? Why is David Stern shooting himself in the foot with this?
Also, didn't the Nets tamper by talking to Dwight, and therefore might be out of the running for his services? Was there any truth to that rumor?

I was so looking forward to a wonderful Christmas morning with family, followed an incredible Christmas Day lunch, and top it off with a Lakers- Chiacgo, with Paul-Kobe- Howard, and seeing two of the best point guards in the league go head to head.

David Stern will not trade Pau for Paul because he wants youth in return..

I'd be more than happy to throw in a 1st round pick as well if it would make a difference. Theres going to be a massive "fire sale" right before the trade deadline for Chris if this isn't settled soon.

What pisses me off more than anything, was the Paul trade was deemed, "final". I LOVE Chris Paul, and think he is exactly what out team needed.

2. How do we sign Paul if we have no cap space, and please don't say for the vet minimum/MLE because that's not going to happen.

^ I'm pretty sure Stern understands that super teams are great for the market. But he also has the other 28 owners pressuring him to not allow these star players to only go to the big market.

Think of it from his perspective. The 30 owners are his bosses, they pay his salary and can decide to fire him at any moment. Do you listen to the few owners who are capable of creating these super teams or do you follow the majority of the small market teams that want you to do the opposite?

F cp3, its a dead cause, I want Howard/Pau.....you can put 40yr old Fish at PG and we'd still be favorites.

But we do not live in old Soviet Union, one the reason all owners owned the teams know that they live in a capitalist society and they have to compete with other organization to succeed. When they bought the team they knew the city and the market opportunities and it was priced in already. Some of the owners got their money because the live in a capitalist country yet they are trying to force the system to work to their advantage by using quota.
