Why not Dajuan Wagner?

Why not Dajuan Wagner?

Postby FabFourLakers on Thu Jul 28, 2005 7:22 pm

Yea, so we lost out on Antonio Daniels, and we're prolly gonna get Payton, Lue, or Stoudemire...but then we still need someone who can solidy our bench and be that reliable 6th man who can score. Why hasnt anyone talked about Dajuan Wagner? When he first came into the league, he averaged like 20 pts a game for the Cavs til they benched him so they could have a better chance at getting Lebron...the kid has talent and I think even tho hes troubled and has been injured a lot, hes the type of player that Phil can tame. He would come cheap, possibly at the vet min...or we can even do a sign and trade with Cleveland...but whatever works...he could be valuable off our weak and thin bench...

anyone else think the same?

Not trying to bash you but there is no way in He!! he would get any pt under PJ. First off he is not even 6ft. Lue would get pt over him. He never played defense even in high school. Yeah he can drop 30 for you in one night but he will give up 40. A younger Sucky Atkins in my opinion that is a head case. We can do much better

well obviously he wont be getting more PT than Lue, cuz Lue would start if we got him....im jus saying we need someone who can come off the bench and score for us..so we haave a solid scoring threat off the bench...he doesnt necessarily hafta be great at D...plus i dont see anyone else out there anyway so why not give it a try? I mean hopefully theres a way we can get 2 outta the 3 between Stoudemire, Lue and Payton and then we wont hafta worry about Wagner...but i doubt it

Agreed, the blue devil hasn't had much of an opportunity to show what he can do of yet, and wouldn't be a bad pickup if we were using him as an option off the bench. Granted we signed him for peanuts.

Why not Wagner?
He can´t play defense
His passing and handling is average at best
His court vision is below average
He is a shoot first guard
He is injury prone
He is lazy and has horrible work ethik

no he's not and he sucks. the last thing we need is a prospect pg trying to run the triangle. give me someone who knows how to play.

Knows how to play? are u kidding? Why dont u look at his rookie season? The Cavs ruined his confidence when they benched him man...same with Kwame...all it takes is a new situation for a player to get his game back...i mean i dont wanna compare DW to Vince Carter, cuz we already knew what VC could do...but im not saying hes gonna be playin for us a lot...im sayin he COULD be a valuable asset off the bench and coudl be a surprise u know?

He may have horrible work ethic and he may be injury prone, but he certainly does NOT suck...the kids got talent and u cant teach that.....and his ball handling skills at best AVERAGE? I dont think uve really seen this guy play at his best...and thats why i think we shoudl give him a chance in a back up role and maybe he can turn some heads and become a starter some day...

Yeah, he's got talent, but if you shoot 36% for your career, even with opportunity, I don't call that being "good" at all. Not to mention that he shows absolutely no signs of becoming a PG. He's just one of those severely undersized SGs who loves to shoot the ball only--plays no defense. HORRIFIC. Oh the horror.
The Kings are dead. Every single ONE of them.

2 years later: Bobby Jackson traded to Memphis, C-Webb to Philly...the end of something good. =]
