Anyways I would do this deal IF and only if Melo signs an extension.

Why would Denver want Shannon when they have Affalo and Smith at the 2 guard spots?

Denver would never do that, but I wouldnt mind getting rid of Bynum's contract due to health concerns.

Why wouldn't they do it? They get a very good 6th man in Brown and one of the best centers in basketball who they can build around for Melo.

They don't wanna lose him for nothing and that right there is probably as good as trade package as your gonna get.

IF Barnes or Ron or Ebanks could play 10 mpg at SG, it makes Melo more do-able. If not, its way too many guys needing minutes that cannot play anthing but Fwd.

I still need to see Bynum be "one of the best" C's on the court for a year rather than for 10-20 gms before annointing him the next 'whomever'.

That's the Bynum Conundrum though: If LA is dealing him he's probably not ever going to be 100% so why would anyone give anything really good. And if he is projected to be 100% why would LA trade him?

Not true.
He was one of the best for 10-20 games. He had two nice stretches. He also was very pedestrian for about 35-40 games with single digit points or boards, clearly not worthy of a 12.5 million dollar man. Look at the game boxes. A whole lot of 12 and 5 's in there. And don't forget to add in the 10 total crap outings.

He averaged 15 & 8 on 57 FG % for the 65 games he played. Seeing as how weak the center position is he was clearly one of the top centers and last year and he was robbed of an ASG appearance because of the fan voting. Amare who is a PF was voted in as a center and the coaches Kaman as a reserve. who shot only 49 % which is below average for a center.

I guess that's the difference between us. 15/8 for Bynum to me is so-so when he dominated for 20% of the games. Its like Kobe averaging 25 per but getting it on 42 one night and 8 the other. I'd rather the consistency.

As for the ASG, come on. Bynum lost that to Kaman with shoddy play the month leading up. It was Bynums spot locked up and key tossed, from Nov - mid Jan. Amare, btw, WAS the Suns center for most of the first few months while RoLo was on the shelf. When RoLo came back, Amare moved back to PF and Frye went to the pine. Yes, Amare is a PF for the most part, but like Pau this year, if he was voted C for the west it'd be reasonable since he had to play C for a few months.

As for 49%, I can name 5 HOF or HOF caliber C's with 49-51% career shooting. If you have a game beyond 8 feet, you're going to shoot closer to 50 than 55 unless you're super human like Ferdinand with 18ft skyhooks. 49% is nothing to cry about and Moses will testify.

Need to get rid of a SF to allow Melo in. I'd say Bynum, Artest and Luke for Melo and Nene.
